Welcome from Your President
Firstly, may I say how honoured I am to have been voted onto the BAFCA Board as President. This will be my twentieth year coaching in the UK, and being able to support the development of BAFCA will be a great opportunity for me. I believe it is a key position for the future development of American Football in the UK.
Former president Paul Sherratt has done a fantastic job over the last four years with the Board and Association and I am in stepping into a privileged position with some key foundations and developments already having being laid out.
Being involved in American football in the UK at the moment is extremely exciting and there are many opportunities available to us as a sport and an association to grow and develop the sport we all love.
There are three main areas which I want to focus on in the short term:
1. Streamlining communication channels to ensure a structured and positive approach to communication with you, our members. Allowing feedback opportunities for our members, at key points to ensure we continue to develop as an association.
2. Working with the Education Team to support the development of the new certification structure, APL and continued professional development tracking for all of our coaches. Yes we are volunteers, but we need to ensure we strive to continually develop our knowledge, delivery and resources so that we are providing the best coaching and player development service for our players and programmes.
3. Link with the new, restructured BAFA board to ensure that our association is best placed to support the progression of our National Governing Body for the benefit of all of our members and players.
I am looking forward to working with the new BAFCA Board to ensure we continue to drive the association forward.
